Description
USD₮0 (USDT0) is an independent Omnichain Fungible Token created by Everdawn Labs, with no issuance or endorsement from Tether. Native USDT is escrowed in a non-custodial adapter contract on Ethereum; an equal amount of USDT0 is minted on any LayerZero-connected chain and burned when moved or redeemed, keeping total supply unified and fully backed 1 : 1 by the locked USDT. This design removes the need for fragmented bridge pools and for Tether’s manual chain-swap service. Launched on 16 January 2025 on the Ink roll-up, the token now spans Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Rootstock and other networks. For chains that already host large native USDT balances but lack OFT support, audited Legacy Mesh pools on Arbitrum provide two-way swaps between USDT and USDT0 at a 0.03 % fee. Everdawn controls contract upgrades and LayerZero configuration while Tether retains ownership of the underlying USDT collateral but does not mint or redeem USDT0.
